Terms of Service
Effective date: October 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between Chimewrench ("we," "us") and the business that signs up ("you"). By creating an account or using Chimewrench, you agree to them. Chimewrench is for businesses, not personal use.
1. The service
Chimewrench gives your business an AI front office. Layla, our AI receptionist, answers calls you forward to her, takes down the caller's details, books appointments, alerts you to urgent calls, and shows every call and booking on your dashboard. Some features prepare drafts, such as estimate follow-ups, for you to review and send yourself.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in details and verification codes private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give each team member their own sign-in, with only the access they need.
- Keep your business details current: hours, services, prices, address and alert contacts. Layla relies on them.
3. What Layla can and can't do
Layla is an AI. She can mishear, misunderstand or make mistakes. Please review bookings and call summaries, and call customers back when something looks off.
Layla answers only the calls that reach her through the forwarding you set up. We can't promise she'll answer every call. Phone networks, forwarding settings and outages can stop a call from reaching her.
Layla is not an emergency service. When a caller describes danger, such as a fire, a gas smell, carbon monoxide, or someone hurt, she tells them to get to safety and call 911 or their utility first. You're responsible for responding to the alerts we send you.
4. Your responsibilities
Calls and recordings. Some states require telling callers, or getting their consent, before a call is recorded. You're responsible for meeting the rules that apply to your calls.
Texts to your customers. Text only people who have agreed to hear from your business, and honor STOP requests right away.
No misuse. Don't use Chimewrench for:
- spam, robocalls or anything illegal
- harassing or deceiving people
- health care businesses, or collecting medical information
Other services. You're responsible for the accounts you connect to Chimewrench, including your phone company account.
5. Text messages
We send service texts, such as booking confirmations and urgent-call alerts. How often you get them varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. Carriers aren't responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Plans and payment
- Plans are billed monthly in advance, at the prices on our pricing page when you sign up.
- You authorize us to charge your payment method each month until you cancel.
- Prices don't include taxes, and you pay any taxes that apply.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before we change your price.
- If a payment fails and isn't fixed within 10 days, we may pause your service.
7. Canceling
You can cancel anytime. Your service continues until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund partial months.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. When we can, we'll tell you first.
8. Your data
Your business data belongs to you. This includes your customer list, calls, recordings, transcripts and bookings.
You let us use it only to run Chimewrench for you, keep it secure, and fix problems.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
After you cancel, you can download your data for 30 days. We delete it within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
9. Phone numbers
The phone number we assign for Layla belongs to Chimewrench. If you cancel, we may release it. Before you cancel, turn off call forwarding from your business line so your calls ring through to you.
10. Our property
Chimewrench, Layla, and our software, designs and content belong to us. You get the right to use them while your account is active, under these terms.
11. Disclaimers
Chimewrench is provided "as is." We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result for your business.
12. Limit on liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost jobs or lost data.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used Chimewrench or broke these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Chimewrench after that, the new terms apply.
15. Law and disputes
North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts for Wilson County, North Carolina. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
